Since producing the first retrofit hydraulic roller lifters in the performance industry over 25 years ago, Crane Cams now raises the bar with a new series of Ultra Pro configured items. These premium lifters incorporate an 8620 steel billet body that;s been precision machined, heat treated, micro-ground and component matched, lead down tested, and enhanced with Crane Cam's exclusive Mikronite process. Each lifter is then attached to its hardened stainless steel guidebar with their latest Monel pun and training flange assembly for superior long term durability.
The roller wheel/bearing/axle assemblies incorporate the latest in technology for greater load carrying abilities and longevity. These lifters are intended for use in high RPM, high valve spring pressure applications, and wherever reliability and durability are paramount for success. These are designed to drop into their intended block, with no machining required in most applications, while standard oiling configurations are retained. Appropriate hydraulic roller camshafts and matching pushrods are required. (Some Chrysler applications will require checking and possible cylinder block and head modifications for lifter guidebar and pushrod clearance.)
No longer considered as a street or marine only oriented item, many bracket-style drag racers are turning to hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters for the repeatability, consistency and lowered maintenance that they provide. The .700" diameter follower wheel has been maintained, so when you upgrade to these items, cam timing will not be affected.
